Video
One of the newest features on our website are the video clips. They are all taken from a Glass Hammer rock concert. It just so happens that the only high quality video of us performing to which we have access is from Glass Hammer, but that is just one aspect of what we do.
Because of Glass Hammer and because of the studio recording work we do for Sound Resources, we have become very diverse in our musical exposure, experience, contacts, work, and repertoire! We think that this sets us apart from other groups and helps us to be more well-rounded and mature in our performance—very capable, comfortable, experienced, and polished in each and every area.
Sometime we are hoping to get video clips of our classical performance as well to show another side of what we do. We're working on how to make this happen as soon as possible. We don't have the resources for hiring a professional videographer, but we are pretty creative and resourceful when need be. We may just have a few tricks up our sleeves. Stay tuned!
Custom Arrangements
Our repertoire has been expanding rapidly lately. Do you know why? Because our wonderful clients frequently make special requests for songs that are not currently on our list. Sounds like a pain, right? But it's not! It has actually been really good for us because every time someone requests a piece that isn't included on our repertoire it forces us to find out if we can get it. Often it is not available arranged for string trio and one of us has to compose a custom arrangement.
We've learned over time that this is awesome. It works out to the advantage of both our clients and our lovely repertoire. Our custom arrangements are some of our best song selections now, and we've gotten better and better at writing these arrangements. It's a learning experience for which we are very grateful.
So please—do not hesitate to make special requests! In most cases we are able to come up with a beautiful and unique custom arrangement for whatever it is that you may like and we LOVE having new music to play. It keeps life so much more interesting. If for whatever reason a song will absolutely not work for string trio (which does happen on occasion), we'll let you know; but it can't hurt to ask and we love to make our clients happy!
We are Rock Stars!
The shows on Tuesday (October 17, 2006) were fantastic! We so appreciate the guys over at Glass Hammer giving us a chance to be rock stars. To meet Glass Hammer fans and have them request autographs and thank us for playing is quite an honor!
This kind of music and performance is quite the departure from our typical repertoire, but we loved it and we had a blast and we hope to do it again!
The show was taped by seven video cameras. There are rumblings of a DVD release of the performance being in the works. It might be a few months, but we'll let you know!
Now we are preparing for our next wedding ceremony (on Saturday!).
We're also in the process of recording new audio samples. Hopefully they will appear sometime this weekend or early next week.
Any special requests for audio samples? Speak now or forever hold your peace...
In the midst of Glass Hammer Madness!
Things are hectic here! We had a wedding in Athens, TN on Saturday (Congratulations to Mariah Mayfield and Alex Woods!!!!), and then on Sunday Glass Hammer kicked into high gear with a rehearsal from 2pm - 6pm
Yesterday the rehearsing continued from 1pm- 9pm. Today we have to be at the Tivoli by 11am. There are two shows, the first at 2pm and the last at 7pm. We are so excited!
Still interested in coming? Call 642-tixs or just show up at the Tivoli for one of the shows! It's going to be a rockin' awesome concert!
More to come regarding new repertoire and new audio clips. Stay tuned!
Website troubles
I don't know if any of you noticed, but a couple weeks ago our website died. No fears though, it has been resurrected! It made for a stressful week or so during our downtime- that's for sure.
We had to start from scratch. We are still tweaking bits here and there and gradually hope to add back all of our content. We are so sorry for any inconvenience or distress it might have caused. The timing was pretty much horrible although there never really is a good time for these things to happen.
Any ideas, tips, requests, or advice about what you'd like to see our our website next? We want it to be a fun and useful place so tell us how we can make it better for you!
