Spring has Sprung!
Well wedding season is in full swing for us now and we have already added so many new songs and custom arrangements to our repertoire that there are too many to list here! It is very exciting! With as many weddings as we've played and with as good as we already feel about our experience, abilities, sound, and professionalism- we learn something new with almost every wedding we play and become even more prepared for what may come in the future! This work is always exciting, new, and surprising!
Now that wedding season has picked up tremendously, symphony season is winding down. It was a good one- I especially enjoyed our last pops concert in which we wore tennis shoes and baseball caps (GO Chattanooga Lookouts!) on stage during our performance. Now that was a new experience and one I will not soon forget!
We are also pleased to announce that Glass Hammer is working on a new album and we've been working very hard on the string parts and recording a lot over the past several weeks. Lots of practicing, blood, sweat, and tears, going into the Glass Hammer music, that is for sure- and it will certainly be well worth it once the album is finished (sometime this summer we hope!). We'll keep you updated!
New Sound Clips!
We have several new audio clips available now! There are selections from Handel, Arioso by Bach, Alleluja by Mozart, and Lovers' Waltz by Jay Unger.
All of these new audio clips were actually recorded live during the preludes to weddings we have played recently. Along with the sound of our live music you will hear the background noises of wedding guests being seated.
This should give you a good idea of exactly how we sound during weddings and preludes. This is live material, folks! What you hear is most definitely what you get. No studio tricks can be found here!
My personal favorite among the new clips is Jay Unger's beautiful and romantic Lovers' Waltz.
February Weddings
We have already played three weddings this February! It has been a lot of work, but as always, very worthwhile. We sincerely love this job!
During yesterday's wedding there was snow falling. It was beautiful to see it falling outside the surrounding glass windows and doors during the ceremony. I thought that was very special.
Also as a result of yesterday's wedding, we have added three new custom arrangements to our repertoire! They were requested for during the reception and they turned out really well! They are- "It Had to be You" by Isham Jones, "Over the Rainbow" by Harold Arlen, and "Unforgettable" by Irving Gordon.
Soon we hope to be adding some new sound clips to the audio clips page. They are already recorded and just waiting to be uploaded so stay tuned. They should be up very soon!
She's married!
It's been a long time!
Well the holidays sure came and went in a hurry! Our last wedding of 2006 was on New Years' Eve! That was quite exciting and fun.
We have been having much more success using our digital recorder and have been working on quite a few projects with it. So far this has been a very good investment for us and has proven to be a wonderful tool! We are loving it.
I think that this must be the most popular booking time of the year because it always seems like January is full of booking our spring and summer weddings. It's going to be a busy and full year- just the way we like it!
Right now is also a particularly busy time in the life of our trio, but not because of playing engagements- no no- our very own Susan is getting married this Saturday! We have put our performing on hold for a couple weeks while we prepare for and celebrate her wedding! It is such an exciting time for us, and especially for Susan!
Congratulations, Susan and Brian! We love you both so very much!
Christmas Greetings

Merry Christmas from the Adonia Trio!
Yesterday Adonia got together to work on a special secret project. (Which may or may not have anything to do with Christmas... we'll never tell!) ;-)
The meeting was very successful and we got a lot done. We are all very excited about this work and hope to reveal it sometime in the future.
Fillauer Lake House
A long while ago, we played at the Fillauer Lake House. We posted about it at the time, because it was extremely hard to find. Since then, however, we lost all of our old articles. I decided to re-post the address because we still get a lot of hits from people searching for the Fillauer Lake House (it's not extremely easy to find on maps).
The closest mappable address is:
Fillauer Lake House
501 20th St NE
Cleveland, TN 37311
Hope that helps!
Recording Wedding Ceremonies, or not...
Our fancy new recording equipment failed us! We attempted to record both of our weddings this past weekend and we've got nothing to show for it.
We've made all the necessary calls to the company today and found out the problem which will hopefully be resolved very soon!
Luckily, there was an excellent videographer at both ceremonies who made his own recordings both for the brides and hopefully us! He mentioned at the wedding that he could probably help us out if our recordings failed and I have already emailed him about it.
We were so disappointed! Both weddings were really beautiful and turned out so well and we were looking forward to making complimentary CDs out of them. I'm glad that other recordings were made though so not all is lost.
We will eventually master the art of recording our ceremonies for our clients.
Technical difficulties are a pain.
