Hackenberger Gets Hitched!

That's right, all of the trio members are now hitched! Our cellist Rachel was married at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church last weekend. Rebecca and Susan provided the music along with guest cellist Suzanne Sims since Rachel was...otherwise occupied. Suzanne is an excellent musician as you will hear shortly. Many of the clips on our sample page were recorded live, but we thought you might like to hear one of our weddings all the way through! The trio always records the weddings to make a CD for the couple, since often the bride and groom are too distracted to hear the music. Sometimes it takes a while for us to get the raw recording through the editing process, but the acoustics are particularly good at LMPC and these clips only needed to be boosted to the proper sound levels. We loved Rachel's choice of wedding music and hope that you will enjoy listening to the music below.

Susan is on Fire!

Susan has been hard at work these last few days writing new custom arrangements for us! She's been doing this just for fun too- not because we have any recent new requests or because anyone asked her to. She just does it for fun sometimes. Pretty impressive if you ask me!

She has done many arrangements lately in a wide range of genres-- everything from the very classical and very intense Palladio to Scott Joplin to Stevie Wonder! Thanks Susan!

We'll be working on learning and rehearsing this exciting new music this weekend! Perhaps sound clips will follow soon!

Continuing Website Progress

We have added pictures to our Wedding Music Guide. Aren't they fun!? I sure had fun adding them!

We have also edited and added to our "Why Adonia" list. This list is basically a compilation of all the reasons we believe you are getting the best when you book us. We sincerely believe that we have a lot to offer and that we are the best at what we do and that we are the most experienced and qualified at this job. We have a blast doing it and we just want you to know exactly what you are getting when you hire the Adonia Trio. We believe that the benifits of hiring us are abundant and extremely valuable!

Please contact us if you have any further questions or comments. We love feedback and would love to hear from you!

Yet More New Stuff!

Submitted by rjames on Sun, 2007-08-26 21:34.

We have new clips , we have new repertoire ! We have been slowly and continually trying to improve the Wedding Guide . I hope everyone is finding it helpful!

Last week I spent days upon days and hours on end arranging new music and I'm proud of how they turned out! A few new clips of the new music can be found on our audio clips and on our repertoire list. We are trying to find a neat way to highlight the new items since they are mixed in with such a long list and hard to find.

New Website Content!

Susan has written an extremely helpful guide for our brides that is designed to help with selecting wedding music! I love that she has done this and I don't think many other places or groups have such a tremendously helpful resource to selecting your wedding music! It covers a variety of ceremony styles and musical options. I hope it comes in handy for many of you and please let us know if you found it useful or if there is some way in which we can improve it!

Many thanks to Susan for putting that together for us!

In addition we are currently working on uploading yet even more audio clips for your listening pleasure! We are hoping to integrate many of our clips both new and old into the new wedding music selection guide . Keep in mind this is a work in progress and is not complete just yet, but is up and coming and will hopefully be finished soon. By the time it is done we are hoping it will be the best, most complete, and most helpful wedding music selection guide out there!

So far this year we have played nearly 20 weddings and we have many still to go this fall. It has been busy and exciting and it almost never slows down! Along with continually working on arranging new music, recording new clips for the website, and preparing for and playing in many weddings and other events, we are also excited that the recording work we did with Glass Hammer on their upcoming album is done and the album will be released in October! Things are always exciting and fun when new albums come out. Album release party, here we come!

We may also have another little surprise up our sleeves to be revealed a bit later so stay tuned!!

Return of the Prodigal Trio!

Submitted by rjames on Tue, 2007-07-24 20:05.

I'm so sorry we I have not posted in so long! The summer has been non-stop weddings almost every single weekend and so we have been very busy! We have played weddings near and far- Fort Payne, AL, Dalonega, GA, and Dayton, TN to name a few! We also just booked a wedding for this fall in Murphreesboro, TN. We've started travelling more and more recently. It has been an adventure!

We have just added a new sound clip and are in the process of adding more. We've been recording almost all of our weddings and have many new clips to use! We have also added some fantastic pieces to our repertoire.

Definitely check out the new clip. It is called Meditation from Thais and is one of my personal favorites. The melody is beautiful, sentimental, and romantic.

It has been a great summer so far (and isn't over yet!) and we've already started booking for next spring and summer!

Spring has Sprung!

Well wedding season is in full swing for us now and we have already added so many new songs and custom arrangements to our repertoire that there are too many to list here! It is very exciting! With as many weddings as we've played and with as good as we already feel about our experience, abilities, sound, and professionalism- we learn something new with almost every wedding we play and become even more prepared for what may come in the future! This work is always exciting, new, and surprising!

Now that wedding season has picked up tremendously, symphony season is winding down. It was a good one- I especially enjoyed our last pops concert in which we wore tennis shoes and baseball caps (GO Chattanooga Lookouts!) on stage during our performance. Now that was a new experience and one I will not soon forget!

We are also pleased to announce that Glass Hammer is working on a new album and we've been working very hard on the string parts and recording a lot over the past several weeks. Lots of practicing, blood, sweat, and tears, going into the Glass Hammer music, that is for sure- and it will certainly be well worth it once the album is finished (sometime this summer we hope!). We'll keep you updated!

New Sound Clips!

Submitted by rjames on Sat, 2007-02-24 21:03.

We have several new audio clips available now! There are selections from Handel, Arioso by Bach, Alleluja by Mozart, and Lovers' Waltz by Jay Unger.

All of these new audio clips were actually recorded live during the preludes to weddings we have played recently. Along with the sound of our live music you will hear the background noises of wedding guests being seated.

This should give you a good idea of exactly how we sound during weddings and preludes. This is live material, folks! What you hear is most definitely what you get. No studio tricks can be found here!

My personal favorite among the new clips is Jay Unger's beautiful and romantic Lovers' Waltz.

February Weddings

Submitted by rjames on Sun, 2007-02-18 10:42.

We have already played three weddings this February! It has been a lot of work, but as always, very worthwhile. We sincerely love this job!

During yesterday's wedding there was snow falling. It was beautiful to see it falling outside the surrounding glass windows and doors during the ceremony. I thought that was very special.

Also as a result of yesterday's wedding, we have added three new custom arrangements to our repertoire! They were requested for during the reception and they turned out really well! They are- "It Had to be You" by Isham Jones, "Over the Rainbow" by Harold Arlen, and "Unforgettable" by Irving Gordon.

Soon we hope to be adding some new sound clips to the audio clips page. They are already recorded and just waiting to be uploaded so stay tuned. They should be up very soon!

She's married!

Well we married off our Susan on Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding and Susan was a stunning bride. The trio (for obvious reasons!) has some time off now. Our next weddings are in February. For now, Congratulations to Susan and Brian and have a great honeymoon!
